October updates...finally!

Ok...ok...ok...I know I'm so lame for depriving all of you of Graham's every move, noise and facial expression. I apologize, but to make up for this I am making a peace offering with this adorable video...

Not still mad at me now, are you? Didn't think so!
Ok so lets get started on playing catch up. It's been a crazy, mad, insane and exciting month. I'll start with a few changes with me and then carry on and on about Graham. I sorta tried to quit my job. I love my job, always have and we really need me to work but I was having such a hard time with the idea of taking Graham to day care. I went in and tried to tell my boss I was quitting. He pretty much wouldn't let me (which deep down, I think I really wanted) and the zoo actually was starting a 'new project' and decided to allow me to be the coordinator over it. It was such a blessing and has allowed me tremendous flexibility. I get to make my own schedule, go in to the zoo 2-3 days/week and do lots of community outreach workshops-based on my own schedule. It's amazing. I am doing conservation work, meeting great people, teaching the public, and still get to play in the lagoon. It's awesome. Graham goes to daycare 2 days a week but it's real close to the Zoo and I can go visit at lunch somedays. They take good care of him there and it's good that he's getting the socialization. It's hard. I miss him every second we are apart but I just tell myself it's good for both of us. I can be a better mommy to him since I can help to provide for his needs and have a little break too.

Ok...now about the important stuff. Graham has 1.1 teeth. Yes, I said 1.1. One is almost halfway in and the other is just thinking about popping through the surface. Although it's causing some serious snotty noses and coughy throats he is still happy-smiley Graham that we all love so much.

With his 1.1 teeth (tooth? hhmmm) he enjoys homemade squash, sweet potatoes (served warm, please) carrots and green beans. Hold the green beans. We just introduced bananas yesterday and I'm wondering if he is part monkey because he was making a hooting and grunting noise as he absolutely devoured the entire serving! :) Thats my boy.

He is sitting like a pro but not crawling and certainly no walking yet. It's all good though, we have plenty of time for that! He doesn't need to crawl anyway. Why you ask? Because when he's sitting on his mat playing and he wants a toy...he just grabs the blanket, yanks and the toy magically appears in his hand. It's so funny to watch. He's too smart for his own good.

Graham got to meet his Papaw-Pop (my dad). I hate that he didn't get to meet him sooner, but better late than never. It was a nice relaxing weekend on the beach and I hope we can do it again soon. Graham is growing so fast and I hate not living close to family so they can watch him grow. However, I am so thankful for our amazing friends who we cherish. I could not have surivived this past month with out them stepping up to help for everything from a few hours to a few days. I love you guys.
